Competition for the award for the most successful scientific or artistic research work

Within the activity T.6.4 of the EU project FP7–REGPOT-2008-1: Unlocking the Croatian Textile Research Potentials under the auspices of the Textile-Science Research Centre (TSRC) the competition for the award for the most successful scientific or artistic research work in the field of textiles (theme: the protective materials, clothing or footwear) has been announced.

Social Council to be set up for textile sector

An accord has been signed by the government representatives, employers and trade unions to form a Social Council for Textile, Leather, Footwear and Rubber Industries. This is the first ever council in Croatia wherein social dialogue will be carried out at industrial level.

The council will include seven representatives each from the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Enterprise, the Associations of the Textile and Leather Industries within Croatian Employers’ Association (HUP) and the trade unions of textile, leather, footwear and rubber industry workers.

On the 24th of February 2010 an opening ceremony of new scientific-research laboratories was held at the Department of Textile Chemistry & Ecology, Savska 16 / 9 in Zagreb.

The opening ceremony was held in the presence of Radovan Fuchs, Minister of Science, Education and Sports, Prof. Aleksa Bjeliš, Rector of the University of Zagreb, Hrvoje Meštrić, Director of the Directorate for Science at the Ministry of Science, Education and Sport and Ante Rezo, Senior advisor for Textil and Leather industry of Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship.

Coordinator of FP7-REGPOT-2008-1-229801: Unlocking the Textile Research Potentials (T-Pot) project Prof. Sandra Bischof Vukušić has expressed the welcome and shortly presented the project activities. Dean of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Textile Technology, Prof. Darko Ujević, held the first speach and presented scientific and educational activities of Faculty of Textile Technology.

Completed the workshop: The role of innovation, with emphasis on the sectors of textile / apparel and information technologies

Of 21 till 23.09.2009. Zagreb is hosted a workshop entitled''The role of innovation, with emphasis on the sectors of textile / apparel and information technologies'', organized within the project FP7-REGPOT-2008-1-229801: T-Pot.

The organizers of this workshop were Faculty of Textile Technology, University of Zagreb and the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, and workshop was held in the Council of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce. During the three-day workshop participants met with the theme: Innovation and application of innovation in the field of textiles and clothing and application of innovation in the textile ICT sector.
